About Us
My name is Kelly and I run and own Kelly's Dharma Dogs. I started up Dharma Dogs in 2018 after selling my previous pet business "Taylor's Pet Services". I started Taylor's Pet Services in 2007 in the Brighton area through the love and passion for dogs and all animals and wanting to give my dog Harry a better life style. The company was a huge success employing over 10 staff members. In 2017 I moved to Birmingham to have my baby daughter Layla, and to be near family, and enjoy an active lifestyle walking with my furry friends. I really love helping people and I get a sense of pride by helping owners out exercising their dogs and seeing the dogs happy faces. It is very rewarding. I am also a foster carer. So I have been DBS checked to an enhanced level and have also had a local authority check completed. I take care of children and therefore I'm free during school hours.
I would consider myself a very calm, patient, person with a pack leader quality. My dog walks tend to be very peaceful but fun. People have commented in the past at how well behaved all the dogs are, that are within my care. I believe it's to do with the energy of the pack leader. It is important I keep a calm energy around the dogs and then they are happy and calm themselves and have fun.

I love nature and the great outdoors. Walking dogs is a dream job, and I am very lucky to be able to do this as a profession, and to have worked in this professional since 2007. I also have a connection with cats and all pets. I enjoy taking care of pets whilst their owners are on holiday. Making their environment nice and clean, and most of all giving them lot's of fuss and love. Some cats don't want lot's of fuss and that is fine, I often let them direct to me what they want. Often it might be their food and then just to sit with them quietly.

I have my own fur family, Willow my Jack Russell (10), Pasty and Trixie my Guinea Pigs and Piper our house cat. (My dog Harry a Chihuahua cross recently passed away reaching a good old of 14). Layla my human baby arrived in March 2018, and she is already a dog walker in the making :) She absolutely loves our dog Willow, cat and guinea pigs. As a family we are vegan and are passionate about the environment.

What's with the name Dharma dogs?
Dharma is a Buddhist / Yogic term for the path to freedom. On my walks I feel very free, and in touch with nature and often following a path. I practice yoga and meditation myself and try to follow a mindful lifestyle, trying to be present in the moment, and therefore I found it appropriate to have "Dharma" in my company name.
